I’m always looking for a good book to read, but sometimes it’s hard to know which ones are actually worth reading. More than once, I’ve been sucked in by a fantastic book cover only to find out the cover was the best thing about the book.
I’m getting better at resisting the lure of ooh-shiny book covers, or at least resisting the urge long enough to find out how other readers are responding to the content. Goodreads is a great source for that. I’ve found the ratings there to be more accurate (closer to what I would rate a book) than those on Amazon. Goodreads also has the extra filter of my friends list. I can see if any of my friends have read a certain book and what kind of rating they’ve given it.
For fun, I’ve included a poll, so take a moment to vote. Let me know which option you rely on the most to find a good book!
